Dear Residents,
Please join the Events Committee for a poolside concert featuring “Paul Plumeri” on Saturday, August 3rd from 7-9 pm following the exciting Community Day activities.
From the Paul Plumeri Band website:
Expect the unexpected when considering the blues-based music of Paul Plumeri also known as “The Bishop of The Blues”. Widely recognized as a world class blues guitarist, he has performed throughout the country and has gained many fans. Learning from the masters of the blues guitar with over 50 years experience as a pro, he’s forged a truly unique guitar style.
Paul began playing guitar at 8 years old inspired by hearing Bill Doggett’s “Honky Tonk” on a Trenton, New Jersey R&B radio show and after seeing Elvis Presley, Ricky Nelson, James Burton, and Chuck Berry on television. But once he discovered real blues as a young teenager, he never changed stylistic direction. He cites B. B. King, T-Bone Walker, Eric Clapton and Duane Allman as influences.
Through nearly 60 years the appeal of the music remains the same. More importantly, his enthusiasm for playing the blues and blues-rock has diminished little. Over the years his approach to playing has led Paul to embrace and showcase his own blues sound — little traditional elements are scattered across his songs, not copying songs note for note has made his sound hotter and more electrified. He has always done it his way, “You’re not going to become a multi-millionaire in this business,” he says, “but, you’ll be doing your thing.”
