Dear Residents,

BOARD BRIEFS

1/11/22

● Many residents are confused regarding the $50 discount for the annual assessment payment in full by 1/15/22. For clarification, FirstService will post the $50 discount to members’ accounts who have paid in full at the end of January. As a reminder, there are two assessments this year; the annual dues assessment and a special assessment totaling $360 for the year (or $30 a month) to every member.
● The board has unanimously approved retaining Hoffman Law LLC to serve as the association’s new general counsel.
● We continue to file civil collection litigation to members who owe a significant amount of back dues and have not held up their payment plans agreements or refused to engage with the collection process. We desire that any member experiencing financial hardship reach out to our Community Manager to make payment arrangements and avoid costly fees and litigation.
● We were awarded a civil judgment of $3,531 against a former employee at the district court. Both parties have the right to file an appeal within 30 days.
● FirstService Residential has hired a new compliance officer for our community, starting in two weeks. We continue to look for a second officer while Officer Diehl is on medical leave.
● We approved a social media policy for association representatives and will present it to the membership at the January 29, 2022 meeting.
● We increased our insurance crime coverage rider to meet the industry standard in lieu of purchasing a fidelity bond. The coverage is the same for both policies, and the premium is cheaper for the rider.
We ask that any member with comments, suggestions, or questions regarding these items please reach out in writing to our Community Manager Scott Matthews Jr. via email to scotta.matthews@fsresidential.com before our next board meeting in two weeks.
The Events Committee received donations from FirstService Residential of a mini-refrigerator, a gift certificate from AAF for a landscaping package worth $1500, and lawn games from Peerless Umbrella Company for our Super Bowl Raffle. We will announce the raffle winners during our Community Super Bowl Party on Sunday, February 13, 2022.

Sincerely,

Marissa Johnson

Assistant Community Manager
