Dear Residents,

Please see below on behalf of the Board of Directors:

Dear Neighbors,
We wanted to update everyone regarding concerns recently shared by many of you about the water company CUPA. As you know, the association does not own or control this private for-profit utility company. We held a conference call yesterday with the project manager and billing specialist for the company. During the meeting, we provided multiple specific issues and feedback that many of you have shared with us.
The company representatives in turn responded that they have only received a mere handful of customer service calls from our residents in the past six months. They stated that there are two customers whose leak detection investigation calls are still in the process of being resolved, and all other calls have been resolved. They then stressed the importance of our residents promptly calling their customer service number with any issues that arise. They stated that they will send a technician out to investigate any customer service calls relating to poor or low water pressure, discolored water, staining of clothing or plumbing fixtures due to water, and higher than normal usage indicative of a potential leak. They also promised to send an insert in upcoming bills reminding all of us of the PUC-approved rate increase and switch to monthly billing, as they feel that the majority of the billing concerns are related to this.
We cannot stress the importance of having any issue with CUPA utility services documented with the actual utility company and not just our association office. This company will be applying for a rate increase early next year, and the lack of customer service calls to the utility from our residents is one of the points they will use to justify their case. We did request that they schedule a meeting with our residents to hear your concerns directly, to which they replied, “That is what the customer service number is for.” So, here is their customer service number again. 800-638-0262 Please add it to your contact list and feel free to call them often if necessary.
As always, we welcome any suggestions you might have to enhance the quality of life here in our beautiful community. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Scott Matthews Jr.
